His collection focused on ‘Friends & Heroes,’ and included pop-art style pieces by Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Elizabeth Taylor and Al Pacino.

Basing it on people he has known well, and who have inspired him as a person, seller Castle Fine Art describes the pieces as each image being an intimate reflection of their character in Johnny’s eyes; a portrayal of how they have revealed themselves to him.

Explaining that it’s the intersection of ‘Pop Art’ and ‘Street Art,’ the collection is also dubbed ‘pop art with a feeling.’

‘I’ve always used art to express my feelings and to reflect on those who matter most to me, like my family, friends and people I admire. My paintings surround my life, but I kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit themselves,’ said Johnny via the Castle Fine Art information page.

The ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ star announced the sale on his Instagram, sparking the collection to sell out within hours.

It comes after Depp was awarded $10.35 million for damages after a defamation suit against Heard.

But ‘The Aquaman’ actress has appealed for the award to be overturned, two months after she was ordered to pay.

Amber was denied a request for a mistrial a week before, arguing that one of the jurors on the case shouldn’t have been eligible to serve because his summons was intended for his father, who had the same name and lived at the same address.

And since appealing, Depp has also made an appeal against the $2 million (£1.7 million) in compensatory damages that he was ordered to pay to her.

Following their divorce, the actor was said to be in financial turmoil, as he sold up a large portion of his sizeable property portfolio.

In 2016, he listed his four-story Venetian mansion which overlooks Venice’s Grand Canal for $10.8 million – after paying $13 million for it in January 2011.

While 2017 saw him sell the last of his five LA penthouses, which raised up a whopping $10.88 million – around $2 million under the collective asking price.

And it didn’t stop there: He let go of his Kentucky ranch-style pad in 2020 for nearly nearly half its cash value – as he only raked at $1,350,000, despite it’s worth being reported at $2.33 million.

While his downtown Los Angeles penthouse, which he shared with Heard, also went on the market last month for $1.76 million.
