Why Spectrum Business Internet is Best for Remote Teams
Spectrum is a great choice for businesses operating in a hybrid or remote business model, offering competitively priced bundled internet, voice and TV plans. As remote teams grow, it’s important to ensure that each team member can communicate with each other through different platforms. We love that business owners can connect their business internet to their phone or use Spektrum’s Business Connect software to integrate all their communication tools into one easy-to-use app. Like most business internet service providers we review, Spectrum offers a discount when bundling an internet plan with phone or TV service. Spectrum also doesn’t require businesses to sign a contract and doesn’t add hidden fees or taxes to the base price.
- Free Business WiFi is included when you buy Gigabit internet.
- No annual contracts, hidden fees or extra phone taxes.
- Other services must be bundled to receive the discount.
- Many features usually included in business packages are sold separately.

Contact Spectrum Business RingCentral
Designed to connect business customers and their employees through a central platform, Spectrum Business Connect with RingCentral is an all-in-one application that simplifies calling, messaging, video conferencing and other communication methods. We liked that employees could easily access all communication tools in one centralized location, an offering we didn’t find with other business ISPs we reviewed.
We also liked how the online Admin portal helps track app usage, giving admins access to data analytics to understand which users are using the app the most and better performance monitoring. Additionally, a dedicated phone number can be used across multiple devices, providing a single point of contact for customers.
Spectrum Business Connect can be used with your existing phone hardware or as a softphone application. When bundled with Spectrum Business Internet, this service costs just $19.99 per month for 12 months.

Adding secure Business WiFi with Spectrum Business WiFi is simple. For an additional $7.99 per month for Spectrum Business Internet customers, Business WiFi is perfect for giving guests or employees WiFi access over a secure connection. The mobility offered by WiFi is perfect when employees or guests need to stay connected while on the move in and out of the workplace. We’ve found it especially useful for business owners looking to effectively manage a workforce of remote or hybrid workers. If these employees decide to come to the office, they won’t have to limit their network access to the office desk; they will be able to connect through their devices. Visitors to the office can also take advantage of the separate free Wi-Fi connection included in your Business Internet plan. Note that this is different from Spectrum Business WiFi.
Wireless Internet Backup
Internet and power outages can occur, and they pose a serious threat to productivity for remote teams. To keep businesses running smoothly, Spectrum’s Wireless Internet Backup serves as a solution for always-on connectivity, an important feature we look for when considering business internet service providers.
Unfortunately, if the work connection is lost, the Spectrum’s Wireless LTE connection will automatically activate and provide up to 8 hours of battery backup. For an additional $20 per month, this add-on will include an LTE backup modem that keeps four critical devices connected. This add-on is only available to Spectrum Business customers.
Spectrum is well known for its business packages that cater to all types of small businesses. Combining high-quality business Internet with Business Voice or Business Connect, Spectrum offers three business packages that can help small businesses save money in the long run. We like that each plan comes with useful features like free desktop security, custom email addresses, and domain names.
No Annual Contracts
Like other providers, Spectrum Business Internet allows its customers to use their services on a month-to-month basis. There is no need to enter into any service contract and there are no cancellation fees or early termination fees if you want to change plans or providers. This feature applies to both internet-only plans and bundled plans that offer convenience for new business customers. In the absence of a contractual agreement, the prices shown for each plan are valid for a period of 12 months only; prices may be higher after that period.
Competitors Contract Purchases
Spectrum makes it easy for new business customers to switch from their existing internet service provider thanks to its Contract Purchase feature. If a customer wants to switch providers for business Internet, Spectrum will pay an early termination fee of up to $1,000 off a competitive contract, one of the most generous buyout offers. Business customers should have no problem switching to Spectrum if the existing contract clearly states an “early termination fee”.
Spectrum Business Internet Pricing
With the exception of the Internet Gig plan, Spectrum’s Business Internet costs when bundled with a phone or TV are as follows:
- 300 Mbps INTERNET: $49.99 per month for 12 months ($64.99 for web only)
- 600 Mbps INTERNET ULTRA: $99.99 per month for 12 months ($114.99 for web only)
- 1 Gbps Internet Gig: $164.99 per month
Business customers who purchase the Internet Gig plan will receive free Business WiFi, which is usually an additional fee ($7.99 per month) with other plans. No matter which Business Internet plan is chosen, customers will get free personal email addresses and domain name registration, free modem and free desktop security for the office.
All business internet plans come with free setup and a free modem. However, the installation of Spectrum Business Internet is location dependent. Typically, on-site installation can be completed within 24 hours, and customers will be able to schedule a one-hour appointment at their convenience. Spectrum will even send reminder notifications leading up to the appointment.
For general business internet inquiries, customers can access Spectrum’s Business internet customer service by phone. We liked that customer support was available by phone 24/7 as part of all business packages, which was not the case with some of the other business ISPs we reviewed.
Spectrum also offers an online support center that offers customers a self-managed library of troubleshooting guides and tutorials. This can be useful for simpler fixes that don’t require customer support.
The Spectrum discount is only available when the Business Internet plan is bundled with either other Business products or Spectrum’s Business Connect. Additionally, these packages come with a 12-month contract, while other ISPs are month-to-month.
Additionally, two of the three Spectrum Business Internet plans do not include Wireless Internet Backup and WiFi; these supplements must be purchased separately. While remote teams can be unaffected and work easily with Business Internet provided, for employees working in a hybrid environment or in the office, having Internet Backup is critical to sustaining critical business operations. Business customers looking to add WiFi and Internet Backup should consider these additional charges.
When reviewing business internet providers, we looked at some of the features that business owners will need to keep their business running. Part of this process includes extensive research, attending provider calls, and deciding the best option for each vendor. Factors such as setup times, internet speed, business phone services and internet availability were part of the process. We chose Spectrum as the ideal business internet provider for remote teams.
