By Shubhi Mishra: The entire country woke up and was shocked to the horrific news of cricketer Rishabh Pant’s fatal car accident. The star cricketer sustained multiple injuries after his luxury car crashed into a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in the wee hours of Friday. The 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, who was on his way to his home in Roorkee, was rushed to a local hospital from where he was referred to a hospital in Dehradun.

Pant’s condition is currently stable and the country has two men to thank for that. Sushil Kumar, a Haryana Roadways bus driver, rushed to help Pant along with a conductor named Paramjeet who saw the vehicle. The duo has won everyone’s hearts and the internet is hailing them as heroes.

Sushil Kumar even booked a spot on the trending list on Twitter. Kumar claimed that minutes after he and the conductor pulled Pant out of the car, the car burst into flames. He also said that he did not know Pant as he was not a big cricket fan and only followed Kabaddi.

Twitter users thanked the bus driver and conductor for their quick thinking and humanity in saving the star cricketer. Former cricketer and National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman also expressed his gratitude to Sushil Kumar.

“Thank you Haryana Roadways driver #SushilKumar who took RishabhPant from the burning car, wrapped him in a bed sheet and called 911. We owe you a lot Sushil ji for your selfless service,” he wrote.

In a separate tweet, VVS Laxman also mentioned bus conductor Paramjeet.

Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan also praised Sushil Kumar for his swift action. “He’s Sushil Kumar. The #Haryana Roadways driver who saved #RishabhPant from the car just in time. He didn’t start shooting and taking pictures. Be like #SushilKumar.”
